Abstract

Massive seeding from 36 ground-based generators, at rates averaging 18 grams per hour, apparently caused precipitation increases of about 50% over 3.2 million acres in extreme southwestern Alberta during six weeks in midsummer 1977. At the same time, only four hail damage claims were filed during the operation, compared to 72 before and after.
